contemporary garden room
An unused space at the side of the house was transformed into a contemporary garden room. Practicality and light were two main features to accompany this structure. It was going to be used all year round. The structure comprised of blockwork and steel to support a large span on the roof. The roof contains 6 very large toughened glass panels to allow maximum light enter the room. Inside there is many lights on different switches to create mood lighting at night. Iroko hardwood panels creates a nice warm texture and works well with the Turkish travertine floor. 4 ceramic heaters were fitted and a gas fire to allow use all year round. For entertainment purposes 2×100 watt speakers were recessed into the hardwood along with a docking station to play music. In the back left corner there is a supply for a TV to allow all sporting events be watched.
