Roof Garden in Castleknock

Castleknock, North Dublin

Various textures come into play in this roof garden in Castleknock. Travertine paving was used as wall capping and as the paved surface to keep the area very bright. A deck was added at the back door to act as a continuation to the interior timber floor. White sand and white cement plastering was used throughout to reduce maintenance on painting the walls on an annual basis.
The planting was simple, introducing specific trees in specific beds to screen out windows from the surrounding properties. Plenty of colour was used to give a feeling of warmth. The built-in bench seats had lids for extra outdoor storage.
