Terraced Garden
Blackrock, South County Dublin
Date: 1st August 2014
Greenstone Landscapes brief for this large overgrown and sloping garden was simple – a complete overhaul!
Following huge excavations, Greenstones created a classic terraced garden with a 3 tier water feature. Each wall was faced with old style red brick and limestone paving was used underfoot.
Wide steps lead from the terraces to the lawn. Lush green plants and garden lights bring this garden to life at night. Scroll down to see photos of how this garden now looks 2 years later.
The front of the house also got a complete makeover too, with a smart gravel and paving parking area.

When was the work done?
We started in October and the work was completed in March 2007.
What was involved?
Ross literally took out the front and the back garden and we re-did the whole thing.
How did you choose Greenstone Landscapes?
We got Ross’ name from the girl who designed the garden. We went to see his work. We liked what we saw and we liked what people said about Ross.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Ross Farrell?
We had a garden designer before we got Ross, so we worked it out with Ross and her.
Did Ross introduce new ideas?
Oh yes, he is full of suggestions and he is very creative.
How did the project run?
Very reliable, I never had any worries from the minute he started. The guys he had working with him were fantastic; he was just a pleasure to have around the place. And the guys he recommended for the gates and the electricians all worked out very well, Ross is a very good businessman – he just gets on with it.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Greenstone Landscapes?
They were so trustworthy and good at their work. I couldn’t fault them.
What’s your favourite part now?
I just like it all, it’s just very different to what we had. It was a very difficult garden to design and work on, but he did it very well. What he did is excellent.
Would you recommend Greenstone Landscapes to others?
I’d recommend him to anyone, I told him that too.
