South Circular

There are tight spaces and there are tighter spaces. The brief for this city centre garden was a challenge from the start which we love here at RJF Design.

The space inside the main house was tight for the family with the main request on the brief being a space to work from home along with outdoor dining and cooking.
The existing shed at the rear was a large unusable space and the side of the house was completely unused.
The design consisted of a new structure at the rear of the garden containing a workspace, sofa seating, TV, WC and shower, a small built in kitchen along with a mezzanine bed level for sleep overs. Attached to this structure is a storage shed for mopeds, bikes with attic space for additional storage for items in the house. The leads out onto the back lane so easy access into the house and garden.

In the main garden we included an automated louvered roof system which is fully enclosed using glass sliding walls and at the side of the unused part of the house we included a covered outdoor gally kitchen featuring a built in mains gas BBQ, large pizza oven sink and drinks fridge. There is plenty of storage space included here also. Beside the outdoor kitchens we included wardrobe style storage units for garden equipment and general items.
Varied lighting circuits were used throughout creating the perfect mood when entertaining within this city centre space.
